The future with interactive video

We all love YouTube –  with 14 billion viewers a month something must work: but is it right for business video, online retail, education or training?

This is why we are offering you a better alternative.

Unbranded player: Purpose-built from the ground up for the demands of today’s online video, the player is fast to load, responsive to control and feature-rich with a fully-customisable colour scheme to match your site. It will scale to any size and aspect ratio to suit your site and your video content, and we can add your own on-screen logo. We are able to give you a huge amount of control over how your viewers consume (and engage with) your video content.

Colours: We can determine the colour scheme of your player, to best match your website. The system also lets us save as many ‘themes’ as you wish – to apply to future videos with ease.

Sharing: Choose whether to offer users one-click share icons for Facebook, Twitter and more – and if they can ‘copy embed code’ with a click.

Comments and Moderation: Generate community around your content with in-player comments, then decide whether to moderate them before they appear. Remember, the comments travel with your player, onto other sites, forums and more.

Playback behaviour: Choose from Autoplay, pre-buffering, data-rate restrictions and more.

Manage your online reputation: The web is about sharing and we can give you total control over which videos are shared and how.
Enable sharing and your viewers can use integrated player controls to send video links to friends, embed in their own blog and submit to major social networks such as Facebook and Twitter with a single click.

White-listed player: The servers  player is “white-listed” with networks like Facebook so the actual player itself appears on people’s walls or pages when it’s shared rather than just a link. This means any branding or in-player adverts we’ve created for you will do the same.

We can send you site statistics that will give you full tracking and reporting on how your video content has spread around social networks

iPhone and iPad video: iPhone and iPad-compatible video is built into the platform. This allows us to display your video in a player that’s part of the device. What the less-geeky will realise is that this allows your content to reach a new, wider audience – with no extra effort, software or expertise.

Clickable video is here: This platform is the first online video platform to offer clickable video simply. Now we can make your video content truly interactive.Using the clickable video system we can create hotspot regions within your video. These regions move as the video plays and objects move around – allowing viewers to click on an object to add it to a wishlist, drop it into their basket, or click for more information.

Convert video views into enquiries and sales: The in-player advert feature lets you turn a video view into an engagement opportunity. You can choose when each ad appears and disappears and exactly what it says, where it links to and even what thumbnail image appears alongside. When someone’s watching your video away from your site it can be really hard to get them to take a related action back on your website. The great thing about the in-player adverts is that they travel with the video wherever it’s seen and will appear even if the video is being watched inside Facebook.

In-player ads can link to anything you want: You can also use in-player adverts to offer documents for download, links to other web pages, or even integrate them with your e-commerce system to allow people to drop items into their baskets. Anything with a URL can be an in-player advert.

Why will your business benefit from using video?

Remember your last training day, or the presentation that you had to endure?

Did it feel like death by Powerpoint?

Did you struggle to stay awake or to pay attention?

How much did you truly take in and remember, one fact, two, three if you’re one of the really attentive ones!

You remember in detail that programme you watched on television the other week though, don’t you?

The reason is simple, you were engaged and being entertained. The programme flowed, had pace, was full of stimulating interviews and well-placed music. Above all, it kept your attention and you remained focused throughout, importantly retaining the information.

So why doesn’t your next presentation contain video?

It may be an induction film for visitors or new staff, a pitch to the board or your boss, or simply a message to say thanks for all of your hard work. By using video you have the opportunity to craft that message, script the key points, engage with the audience and above all else, ensure the message is delivered and understood.

In a training environment this could be invaluable. One instructor will deliver in a totally different way to another, one may be interesting, the other dull. By presenting a video you can be assured everyone receives the same information. The benefits of web delivery also cut costs and carbon footprint too when staff are at different locations around the country or the globe.

Standardising message delivery is not only practical and cost effective but vital to brand identity.

It doesn’t need to be costly either. Done properly one filming session could be used in a multitude of different ways. When we are commissioned by a client to create a specific film, we help show them how a few extra questions, the odd shot, or a slightly alternative approach can create a variety of different uses of the film.

You can create versions for web, promotion, seminar, training, video-blog, powerpoint, and news release all from the same shoot. It’s about tailoring a different edit for each different arena. Nothing difficult, it just needs a minute of planning before you start – and an expert production team to guide you in the right direction.

The benefits are endless: you probably haven’t thought of them all yet, but together as a part of your extended team we’d like to help you see the future. Don’t just say it, show it …

Tell them a story …

It’s an interesting fact that CBS’s 60 Minutes is the longest running prime-time television show in US history.  Its creator and producer, Don Hewitt, once explained the reason for its success: “Even the people who wrote the Bible were smart enough to know: Tell them a story. The issue was evil; the story was Noah. I latched on to that.”

For centuries we have communicated across time through story telling, so the product hasn’t changed but the delivery may be different. The delivery tool of choice today is the web; we blog, we tweet, we share, but what of the content?

Has the emphasis moved too far to the delivery tool and away from the message.         Have you ever wondered why your communication didn’t get understood or had little or no impact?

Was it down to the content?

So many of the communications that we view online haven’t been thought through from an audience’s perspective. We are bombarded daily with information we haven’t asked for and as such, we stop listening. Try a new approach, entertain and then inform the viewer, create messages of true value and stop trying to sell, then you’ll find they buy.

Don’t just say it, show it!
